Gulbahar: Festive (Collection 02)
Brief
A womenswear Summer Spring 2024 collection of 6 silhouettes, inspired by stories revolving around nature. Stories to be selected on the basis of trend research, competitor brand research, and personal interests that resonate with brand’s design language. A major story could have 2-3 minor stories/directions in order to explore multiple directions/approaches in the collection.
Colours- Explore a fresh colour palette of bright and happy tones which should give the essence of a Summer Spring collection.
Focus Point- Festive wear with a focus on surface embellishment

Here’s a glimpse into the foundation of this collection! Below are the mood board, concept, colour palette, client board, and look board, each carefully curated to shape the essence and direction of the designs.

Following this, I began developing motifs and transforming them into prints—details of which can be found in the Design Process section, out of which the chosen master print and the placements prints are used in this collection.
Since this is a festive wear collection, khakhas had to be developed for the karigars to execute the hand embroideries, below are a few of the explorations. I really like 3D embellishments, I feel they bring out the essence of the embroidery, hence I wanted to try it out for this collection! For the first time ever at Gopi Vaid, we experimented with 3D embellishments, and the final outcome was stunning and was also highly appreciated by Gopi Ma’am. Working with the karigars on this was fun! Simultaneously, I explored and brainstormed silhouettes for the festive-wear collection. And as per the silhouette and the price bracket, the hand embroidery and machine embroidery placements are decided.

And here they are, the final six looks of Gulbahar—where design, color, and craftsmanship come together in perfect harmony!

Now, let’s dive into the technical specification sheets for each ensemble, covering the garment tech pack and cost sheet along with its showcase of close-up photoshoot pictures. Here, you’ll find a detailed, magnified view of the tech pack and cost sheet for the first Gulbahar ensemble, 'Rihanna Jumpsuit', followed by the rest.

That's it! This was a satisfying project, thank you so much for your time exploring the collection :)
